To empower our membership to get the utmost from their Oracle products


VISION

A membership united in their ability to access and to share the Oracle information that they need to exceed their goals for their Oracle software. A user group able to provide to new Oracle users the helping hand that they need to become proficient with Oracle software in a timely manner. And lastly, to be an effective conduit for the flow of information between Oracle and the Nashville area user community.

Election Information

Nominations: Open at the March meeting, Close with the May meeting

Any NOUG member can be nominated for a NOUG Officer position. Nominations can be made by any NOUG member (including oneself). The only requirements for office are a desire to further the NOUG mission and to fulfill the responsibilities and obligations of the given office. All nominees must be willing to commit to these requirements before being placed on the ballot.

Voting: Begins the day after the May meeting and Ends the day before the June meeting

Voting is handled via an automated or e-mail based system, with a NOUG volunteer responsible for tabulating the results and announcing the new Officers at the June meeting.


Officer duties and responsibilities

President
Arranges presentations and presides over meetings, makes sure the presentation fees are paid, interfaces with IOUG as official representative of the NOUG, keeps in touch with O'Reilly, Oracle Press and other companies to for give-aways and other freebies and resources.

Vice-President
Fills in for the President at meeting when required. Responsible for authoring and sending out NOUG Mailings and maintaining the member distribution.

Treasurer
Responsible for maintaining the NOUG finances, purchases and provides refreshments for meetings.

Newsletter Editor
Developers the monthly newsletter, solicits and provides articles for same, publishes the newsletter to the Yahoo eGroup and prints copies to bring to meetings (or asks someone else to do that in his stead).

WebMaster
Maintains NOUG web site in a timely and accurate fashion, derives input from other NOUG officers and members.
